Obit from the Napa Valley Register, July 26 2011:

Style will not be the same here since Jane has left us to help the angels look their best. Jane Michele Kitchens passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family and friends on July 22, 2011. Jane's amazing zest for life propelled her through 30-plus years of meeting her health challenges head-on.

Jane was born in 1947 in Stockton, California and was reared in San Carlos, California, graduating in 1965 from Carlmont High School in Belmont. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil Rae and Edward Adamich, by her brother Ralph Adamich and by her lifetime soulmate, John Triana.

Surviving Jane to carry on her bright spirit are her beloved son Erik Wayne Kitchens and his wife Pam of Redwood City, devoted daughter, Courtney Michele Kitchens of Napa and treasured grandson Kody Kitchens of Chalis, Idaho. She is survived by very dear first cousins, numerous much loved nieces and nephews and by very close friends.

Jane retired from her career as national sales manager of the Westin Hotel in San Francisco and settled in Napa where she enjoyed an active retirement.

She contributed her message of tenacious resilience to those she encountered through Bosom Buddies, Day for the Queen and the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed quilting and became a superb quilter, serving in numerous offices with the Napa Valley Quilters. Jane's talents extended to jewelry making, decorating and creative travel.

Jane requested that no funeral service be held. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Those of us who walked the earth in Jane's brilliant companionship have a message for St. Peter: "Buddy, you better press your robe!"

From Sandy Petri Belstler

Jane and I were really good friends, including working together at Westin Hotels. I introduced her

to the job at the time we were reservation operators together, so we communicated together. We also

moved to Hawaii together. I knew Jane had battled with cancer. We lost touch when our lives went

in different directions. The last time I saw her was just before she retired. It is always sad when

you hear about the pain of someone dying so young and leaving behind so many.

Thank you Jane for all the good times. You are loved and missed..
