Frank Messmer passed away on July 1, 2009 in St.Helena. He was born on July 19, 1947 in Redwood City. Frank grew up in Nevada City and San Carlos, where he graduated from Carlmont High School. He subsequently graduated from Cal State Chico with a degree in sociology
Frank worked in the food industry for his entire career. He owned Frank's Fresh Foods in St. Helena with his former spouse, Therese. After the business closed, he worked for several meat and food purveyors in San Francisco. His last position was in sales for Golden Gate Meats in San Francisco
Frank Messmer leaves behind two daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Messmer of Oakland and Katherine Linskey Messmer of New York City. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Seymour of League City, Texas and her children, Mark and Mary Anne. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Messmer and his brother James. James Messmer's children are Julianne, Michelle, and Annie of Sacramento.
There will be a celebration of Frank's life on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 4294 Big Ranch Road, Napa starting at 3:30 p.m, with a memorial service at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Frank Messmer Memorial Fund, 4294 Big Ranch Road, Napa, CA 94558.
